HELPFUL INFORMATION

FAQ & Policies

Everything you need to know about booking, using and visiting our studios.

Booking & Pricing

How do I book?

Book online through our booking page. Choose the Sanctuary, the Workshop or both spaces, pick your date and duration, and pay at checkout.

All bookings must be made at least 12 hours before your start time. The studio is open 8am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday.

How far in advance do I need to book?

Online bookings must be made at least 12 hours before your session start time. If you need to book within 12 hours, please contact us directly. We may still be able to accommodate a last-minute booking manually, subject to availability.

Which studio should I choose?

The Sanctuary is our warm, natural-light studio with arches, limewash walls and curated furniture, suited to portraits, editorial and lifestyle work.

The Workshop is a clean, adaptable production space with an infinity wall and backdrop system, suited to controlled-light shoots, product work and video.

Can I book both spaces?

Yes. A Full Studio booking gives you both the Sanctuary and the Workshop within one booking, at a lower rate than booking them separately. See Pricing for all rates.

What is the refundable security deposit?

A £30 refundable security deposit applies to every standard studio booking. It is separate from your hire price.

The deposit may be retained, wholly or in part, to cover damage, excessive cleaning, overtime or a breach of the booking terms. It is not a cleaning charge.

Is the deposit different if I bring a pet?

Yes. If a pet is attending your booking, the refundable security deposit is £50 instead of the standard £30. This is one £50 deposit in total, not £30 plus £50.

It is a refundable security deposit, not a cleaning fee. Please let us know when you book that a pet will be attending.

When is my deposit refunded?

Deposit refunds are processed within 48 hours of receiving your bank details. Please send your bank details within 14 days of your booking ending; after that, the deposit is forfeited.

Can I extend my booking?

Yes, if the studio is available. Please contact us at info@jdcontentstudios.co.uk.

Staying past your booked time without an agreed extension may result in your deposit being retained, so please make sure setup and pack-down are finished within your slot.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

Bookings can be cancelled or rescheduled up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time, using the link in your booking confirmation email. No-shows and cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance are not refunded.

Yes. Please lift items carefully, or roll them if they have wheels. No dragging. All furniture and décor must be returned to its original position before you leave.

Can the windows be covered to block natural light?

How many people can attend?

A maximum of 5 people is allowed in either studio. Please let us know during checkout if you will have more than 5 people.

Are children allowed?

Yes, children are welcome, but they must be supervised at all times. The space is not child-proof and the furniture and décor are delicate.

There is no lift at the studio. If you have any access requirements, please contact us before booking and we will advise.

Is there anything else we should know?

Shoe covers are provided and must be worn at all times, except by models appearing on camera. Smoking, drugs and alcohol are not permitted on the premises.

Events

How do I book an event?

Events are enquiry-led. Tell us about your event through the Events page and we will confirm availability and setup with you.

Which spaces are used for events?

The Sanctuary is the main event space. Workshop access may also be available depending on your setup.

How much does event hire cost?

Event hire has a 4-hour minimum: 4 hours £350, 6 hours £430, Full Day £650.

A £50 cleaning fee and a £50 refundable event security deposit apply to every event booking, separate from the hire price. The minimum total payable for a 4-hour event is £450.

Member discounts do not apply to event bookings.

What is included with event hire?

A selection of studio furniture, chairs and tables may be available depending on your setup. Specialist event equipment, décor, catering and PA systems should be arranged separately. Studio hire does not include staff attendance unless agreed in advance.

Access & Arrival

Can I view the studio before booking?

Yes. Studio viewings can be arranged when there is no booking at the requested time. Contact us with a suitable date and time and we'll confirm availability and access arrangements.

How do I get into the studio?

The Sanctuary and the Workshop have separate entrances. Access instructions for your studio are sent by email once your booking is confirmed.

When should I arrive?

Bookings start and end exactly at your reserved times. Please arrive on time and complete all setup and pack-down within your booked slot.

Is parking available?

Free on-street parking is available throughout the day. The area can be busy on Fridays between 1:30pm and 3:30pm due to community activities.

Policies

What happens if something is damaged?

Please tell us straight away if anything is broken or damaged during your session, on 07379 306982 or at info@jdcontentstudios.co.uk. Charges may apply, and the deposit may be retained to cover damage.

Is there CCTV at the studio?

Yes, for the security of clients and the studio. Footage is kept for 30 days and then deleted.

Membership

What does the £50 membership include?

JD Studio Membership is £50 per month. Each month, after your payment is confirmed, one studio-hour credit is added to your account. As a member you also get 15% off eligible additional studio bookings. Credits and the discount are managed automatically — just log in and book.

Where can I use my monthly studio-hour credit?

Credits can be redeemed on Sanctuary or Workshop bookings. Full Studio bookings are not eligible for the studio-hour credit (members still receive 15% off standard Full Studio bookings).

Can I save unused credits?

Yes. Unused credits roll over and build up, and you can combine more than one credit on a single longer booking.

How long does a credit last?

Each credit is valid for 6 months from the date it’s issued. Expired credits can’t be redeemed.

What happens when I book after my credit has been used?

Your 15% member discount applies automatically to eligible Sanctuary, Workshop and standard Full Studio bookings — no code needed.

Does the 15% discount apply to Full Studio?

Yes — standard Full Studio bookings get the 15% member discount. Full Studio just isn’t eligible for the monthly studio-hour credit.

What is excluded from the member discount?

Events, security deposits, cleaning fees, damage charges and any other fees. The discount applies to eligible studio hire only.

Can I combine the member discount with another promotion?

No. The member discount doesn’t stack with promotional discounts — a booking made with another promotion or discount isn’t eligible for the member discount.

What happens to my security deposit?

Deposits work exactly as they do for every booking: the refundable security deposit is always payable in full, is never reduced by membership benefits, and is never covered by a credit. Our standard deposit refund policy applies.

Can I reschedule a booking made with a membership credit?

Yes. Reschedule through the customer portal as normal (our standard rescheduling terms apply). Rescheduling your existing appointment does not affect the redeemed credit.

What happens if I cancel a credited booking?

Cancelling an appointment does not automatically restore the redeemed credit. Where appropriate under our normal cancellation terms, we may assist with a replacement booking. Please contact us before making a new booking so we can apply the member benefit correctly. Late cancellations and no-shows may result in the benefit being forfeited.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes, any time, from your membership account. If you cancel your membership, it remains active until the end of the period you have already paid for. After it ends, unused credits remain redeemable for up to 30 days, subject to each credit’s original 6-month expiry.

Can I get a refund of my membership payment?

If you’re within 14 days of first signing up and haven’t used any membership benefit (redeemed a credit or used the 15% discount), we’ll refund your £50 in full — any unused credit from that payment is withdrawn and the membership ends. If a benefit has already been used, contact us and we’ll review your request against the value already supplied and your statutory rights. After the initial 14 days, the current billing period isn’t automatically refundable, but you can cancel future renewals at any time. Duplicate or erroneous charges will of course be refunded. Nothing here affects your statutory consumer rights.

What happens if a monthly membership payment fails?

You’ll have 7 days to update your payment details. If the payment isn’t resolved in that time, member benefits are paused — your credits are kept, but they can’t be redeemed until your membership is active again (and remain subject to their normal expiry dates).
